Blog - December 2004
31/12/2004 - Lack of Sleep -
It's 11 am and I'm already extremely tired, what am I gonna be like later!? I couldn't sleep as it was too warm and after being awake for 2 and half hours or so I gave up and got up at 6:30. I've pretty much spent the intervening time mapping a combat map for natural-selection that I designed in my head because I was bored and couldn't sleep! I wanted to do an outside foggy swamp area inspired partly by a section of Halo, but the HL engine can't really do that so I took the inside bit of the map I'd designed in my head and changed the outside! I'll keep you posted as I make progress.
I just read this bbc article about web logs, now it seems to suggest that blogs are like small news casting stations where people share their views on current events, sharing pictures as well as information. While some blogs of political figures may do this, because these people set up the blog to try and influence other people, I'm fairly sure however that the majority of blogs are just people rambling on about their everyday experiences, like mine. Surely the latter is what a web log is about, a log on the web of your experiences. People often share their opinions in small rants or, if you're SimonG, in amusing stories but does that make all us bloggers small journalists?
I got over 1,000 unique visitors this month, which I'm quite proud of! So in one month, since moving my site, I got more visitors than I did in nine months before I moved it, freaky. It's not like there is much more content for searchers to pick up on either. Well anyway I'm going to try and finish my Lab Report now, or at least get the results and errors section done, then I'll probably do some more mapping =D.
30/12/2004 - Working Brain! -
Okay it took amost an entire day of doing my phsyics lab report and research for it while keeping my spirits up by talking to people online, to get my brain to work but it is now working. A side effect of me talking to people online whilst working meant that I didn't actually get as much work done as I could, but I'm far happier for it so it's all good! :D
I'm considering stealing the
emoicon cause I use it quite often on msn cause it looks so funny, but it looks a bit wierd in plain text. Oh wait I did just steal it, oops! It messes up the line spacing, but so what. Oh and I opened a Live Journal account as Dero and Emma have them. At the moment there is just a link to here but I may start putting them on both sites so Live Journal Readers don't have to leave their comfy little 'homes'.
If there is anywhere open and they have a free table for two I'm gonna take Rachel out for a meal later, as tomorrow it's the New Year's Eve Party and she's busy on Saturday and I'm going back to London on Sunday
if that fails we'll be getting a take away instead, lol. Going to defrag my hard drive now, s h o c k i n g .
29/12/2004 - Fuck! -
I've not done any physics for only a week and 2 days or so, and now when I try and do some, it just does not work. My brain seems incapable of operating properly and I seem to have forgotten just about everything new I learnt. So I think I'm probably going to have to go over all the work I did last term before doing more or it's just going to be a waste of time. The only problem is that my work folder is about 5cm thick with stuff, so that is a lot to go through and I have a Lab Report in next Tuesday and a Assessed Problem Sheet in next Friday.
I guess I'm just gonna have to write down some stuff for my lab report, a basic outline like I did before and hopefully I'll be able to improve it, like I did last time. I'll alternate between relearning / revising my old work and doing my Lab Report, I think I'm going to leave the Problem Sheet till after I have done more catching up because I don't think I can actually do the Problem Sheet without some revision.
Rachel is coming round to pick me up in about 30 minutes, I will probably moan at her about all this =(. I can't spend my evenings working though, even if I would probably get some work done if I did, because it's unfair on Rach, we're only gonna be in the same place for another 4 days before I go back to London. So I'll just have to get my ass in gear and do some work in the mornings. Off now, hopefully I'll have good news of progress tomorrow afternoon.
28/12/2004 - My Girlfriend has Great Breasts -
Damn, I've missed a day, well actually because the post of the 26th was about the 25th I've missed two days, sowy. Anyway, on Boxing Day, Me, Rachel, Mum, Dad and Laura climbed the Wrekin as to work off the christmas dinners (Rachel and I had two each). Although Laura and Dad walked around while the rest of us went up. T'was Beautiful, very snowy and misty, and cold. I managed to get up the rather large hill on a Blackcurrant Sundae and 4 'Starburst Joosters', what an achievement!
Erm yesterday I didn't do a lot, I stayed at home instead of going to the Hopkins Christmas do, to do work. Except I did very little work and watched lots of DVDs, (well the first 3 episodes of Stargate, as well as Pitch Black and Pirate's of the Caribbean) and also played Simpson's Monopoly, which my sister won by being evil. Today I'm going to attempt to do work, again, and probably fail, again.
26/12/2004 - The Night After Christmas -
I just had a really long chat with my mum, which was great, because she's really insightful with people and she helps me be more so. It's not good to over analyse stuff, but I think it is important to be introspective sometimes. I don't think I've done this enough recently. Watching 'Who wrote the Bible?' on channel 4, which was very good btw, helped put me in the thoughtful mood I think.
I'm chilling to one of my many ace presents; Chicane's album, Behind the Sun. I need chilling, as my thoughts have just made me dispair at some people and their affect on others. Anyway moving on, Rachel has bought me the acest presents, some Jelly Belly's, which I adore, 80 atari games (which I may have to marry her for), and a CD-Radio-Alarm Clock, which is extremely funky! I'm also wearing a hat her parents gave me, except I'm fairly sure Rachel picked it out and they bought it. I'm not gonna list everything I got, but in summary I got a few DVDs, a few CDs, some Books, and a few funky things, very happy with it. I'd like to take the remainder of the paragraph to say that: I absolutely adore you Rachel. The presents don't really matter, but they got me thinking a little that I don't think I tell you enough anymore just how much I love you, so there it is =). [Plus I'm out of credit and can't text you to say so =(].
I hope everyone had a great christmas day, and I hope that dispite it being a celebration of a religion that not everyone believes in that people can use it to find hope in their lives and goodwill to others, Christmas or not. Now I'm going to leave you with some pictures of the stuff I got, because it's always nice to recieve gifts =).
25/12/2004 - It's Christmas! -
It's only 12:25 am but it's still technically christmas so "yey! Happy Christmas Everyone!" I'm not going to cheat and put this as yesterday also because I probably won't get time to blog later. Oo it's present opening time in under 10 hours! Right well I'm going to bed early so I can get up early and not be grumpy! A final note at christmas most please say it is a good time to see your family and friends, while I agree, I still have to do a little gaming.... at least I stay in the festive spirit.
23/12/2004 - Christmas Eve Eve -
Only two more days to christmas =D. Quite excited! I had to resist temptation when we went shopping yesterday in that my lovely parents offered to buy me the 6230 as a birthday and christmas present. It is a rather funky peice of kit, phone, camera, mp3 player, FM radio... but it costs £200 before you get a bigger memory stick and headphones and I don't really need it. If I want anything that might actually be useful it'd be a processor and motherboard upgrade for this baby *strokes computer*.
The food at Tin Tin's was lovely, but it didn't agree totally with either me or Rach, but it lot more so with Rachel, had to drive her back home as she was feeling too ill to go work. I hope you get better soon babe. I'd better stop messing about on here and start some work, I've got an assessed problem sheet, a experimental write up and I'd also planned to do loads of problem sheets, but I think I might give them a miss as the courses so far are pretty easy and I haven't been having any problems with the assessed problem sheets which are about the same as the exam questions we are going to be getting.
Paul has managed to catalogue his entire CD collection which is extremely scary! Take a look here. When I'm bored enough I'll put up my CD collection in my collections section (and video games and movies too at some point), but that time is not now. On a new subject, there are new Omega Drivers out (well not very new but newer than those I'm using), but I don't want to restart my PC and lose my 4 day uptime lol.... I think I need to go outside.
22/12/2004 - Oops! Missed a day -
It's my mum's birthday today, Happy Birthday Mum! We went to shrewsbury to do some shopping, I didn't need to do any myself but went along anyway and ended up buying myself a CD (Daft Punk - Homework) and something for Rachel too, though she might not enjoy it that much, just introducing her to a little 'Harry Humour', if you read this sweetie it's nothing to worry about, honest.
We're going out to Tin Tin's in about an hour, which is pretty posh so I'd better go wash my hair as it's been 2 days since I washed it and apprantly that's too much! Well I apolagise for the lack of updates but I appear to have gotten myself some what of a life around christmas, ever so sorry. Might rant about their not being any Christmas Carols for non-Christians, although if you're athesit (like me) it doesn't really matter because you can swear allegence to a non-existant almighty being in song and it doesn't matter because as I said the being is non-exisitant (in my opinion). Anyway that's a topic for a far longer blog than this, Hope everyone is having a great christmas.
20/12/2004 - Fantastic Day -
I just watched Armageddon, and I'll freely admit that I cried at it. I think it's a damn good film, and I'm willing to argue that point with anyone =p. Had an amazing day today, went shopping with Rachel in Telford, and it was snowing when we left the shopping centre :D. Had a great time just messing about at home with Rach, just wrapping presents and cooking lunch, little things but it feels so good that we can have such a good time together doing it.
After having such a great time at home I think I'm gonna have to try at lot harder once I'm back at uni so I enjoy myself more. Talking of university I've got to start work soon, as I have lots of it to do! I have a plan though, I will work out everything I've got to do and the time in which I've got to do it between going to shrewsbury with mum on wednesday morning and going out to Tin Tin's later for her birthday, and then I can start working on Thursday when Rachel is at work.
I watched 'I, Robot' last night, again I think it was a pretty damn good film, there was some blatent advertising but I don't mind, I'll discuss it in full another time I think, the people that don't like 'I, Robot' will be the same kinda people that dislike Armageddon but I'll go into that when I give a more in depth review. Here's some thing to entertain you courtesy of Foz : Salad Fingers.
19/12/2004 - Home! -
I'm home, wow! It's kinda wierd in that I've settled almost instantly back in, guess it shows you what home really means, somewhere where you are instantly comfortable. I'm missed web logging yesterday, I'm ever so sorry =p. Now I'm back in my big comfy chair at home you'll probably be seeing more content, although I do have my lovely family, friends and girlfriend who will be 'distracting' me so perhaps not. On an aside Happy Birthday to Omally!
I can't really think of much entertaining to say, I could probably tell you about getting my pc / clothes / books / CDs down 3 flights of stairs and out of the double set of doors and make it sound amusing, but it wasn't that amusing really, so I won't. If you want entertainment go read Omally's site =p. I promise to have an entertaining rant about something in the near future, honest.
17/12/2004 - Going Home -
I'm going back to Shropshire tomorrow, got mixed feelings about it. I'm very happy and quite excited to be seeing my girlfriend, my family, my school friends and of course christmas is coming! Yey! Thing is, this room and this city is my home now, I've got used to my routine here and it's going to be wierd that all changing. I'm probably going to be doing more work while at home than here though, heh heh. I do have a scary amount of work to do over the holidays =|. Hopefullly dad'll come down in the polo and I'll be able to drive home, which would be great because I've really missed driving.
16/12/2004 - Late -
Oops! I missed my blog writing deadline again, as it's now technically the 17th but I'm going to enter this as the 16th anyway, because if I hadn't said, you'd have never known! Haha! I discovered in my last relativity lecture earlier that it is possible to take notes with your eye's shut but it isn't too neat, so I don't recommend it. It's looking like I'm going to have a hell of a lot of work to do over christmas, I've got to organise my notes, do double figures of problem sheets and classworks as well as an assessed problem sheet and a lab report to write up.
I'm not sure that I'll be able to get my PC hooked up to the net when I get home, if I don't manage it there'll be a large gap in update till the new year, but I probably will get it hooked up. Though I think this site matters to me more than anyone else, thought it's just something where I can order my life and just get stuff off my chest that I just feel like saying. For example, there should be soft porn on at least one channel after 10pm till at least 3am.
15/12/2004 - Site Updates + -
I've made several changes to the site: I've removed the Ely Bot page as I'm not going to be making any time soon. I've finally done the Ely mIRC page. I've updated the IRC rules for my channel on it's page. I've changed it so links do not open in a new window, as it's annoying so you'll have to do it manually from now on & finally I've added a 'What's Spinning?' link to my misc menu, which is a link to my audio scrobbler profile, check it out :). At some point I'm gonna work out how to scroll through each of my vinyls using just one html/php file, because atm I have one for each and it's a pain to update all of them. I was also gonna have a rant about GM crops, cloning, stem cell research, the promotion of renewable energy sources or similar (I'm in favour of all of them), but I can't be bothered just now.
Foz told me that he had enjoyed reading my blog the last few days which made me quite happy so I'll try and keep it that kind of style. As I'm not up for entertaining you myself just at the moment I recommend you visit Derobrash's blog and scroll down to December the 6th, highly amusing. I haven't touched on anything sexual on this site (read the link and you'll see why I'm saying this), mainly cause I think one of my parents might see it, but then I forget my parents can't use the internet and aren't even connected at home cause they can't figure out how to hook a windows ME PC up the broadband. So I might in future.
In other news I got back in touch with Matt-e-h. earlier who I haven't spoken to in ages early (finally managed to get his msn addy, well he got mine, but it doesn't really matter, except the latter makes me seem more popular). He is the dude I saluted earlier this month for being able to make a decent tune. I hope he doesn't mind but I'm going to put one of the samples of the songs he sent me here, cause I think it's ace, it's very much a work in progress and he seems to think it needs a quite lot changing/improving, which is why he might mind me putting it up, but I think it's pretty ace as is. I want to be his official groupie.
14/12/2004 - I NEED Caffinee -
Oh god I need something to pick me up, I'm not getting anything done at all, just feeling so tired. Thing is, I'm not allowed caffinee, if I have too much my heart decides it's a good idea to beat at over 200 bpm (not exagerating) for a few minutes, it starts for no good reason and then goes away for no go reason either, though I'm generally quite glad when it stops. As I have no caffinee I just think I'll go to bed early and hopefully I'll be feeling more active tomorrow.
Oh I've decided to (when I'm in a more active mood that is) remove all the 'target="_blank"' from my links, i.e. stop them opening in a new window, as I was browsing a site earlier and they forced open new windows like this and it was extremely annoying, so from now on you'll have to do it manually (right click on the link and click open in a new window [or in new tab if you are using firefox]). Oh and I'm going to write new error pages at some point.
14/12/2004 - Hmmmmmm -
I'm slightly less annoyed with myself as I, in fact, only lost 6 marks out of 40 on my last problem sheet, I was just being a bit stupid and misreading my marks. My group also got feedback on our seminar presentation, and it was all very good (although ofc there were minor points to improve but there always are). It was said it was very professionally presented.... yey! (btw I was one of the two presenting it :P).
I'm in quite a thoughtful mood at the moment, I'm pretty content, not exactly happy, but certainly not unhappy. I think I might try and get a page or two of content up on here and maybe start messing with a design for the Final Fantasy VII page. Ooh I might also put up a list of the abbreviations and 'l33t speak' (and what they mean) that I use in my blog for all those reading who sometimes have no idea what I'm talking about. I may possibly organise how I'm going to do all the problem sheets and classworks over the holidays, or if I don't feel like that I'll work out how to spend the £400+ surplus I have from my loan, (considers 17" LCD 8ms response monitor).
13/12/2004 - Self-Irratation -
I'm very irratated at myself I lost 8 marks of 30 on my last problem sheet for no reason, I knew how to do everything, and tbh the same can be said for the 4 marks I lost over the first two problem sheets. Just me being extremely careless. I tried playing CS to cheer myself up, but I sucked so it didn't work, I did get of accused of hacking on Natural-Selection though, which is a new experence :D.
I signed up for this thing called audio scrobber you can visit my page and see what I've been listening to if you like :P, this kinda makes a little "What you listening to?" bit on my blog redundant. Well I didn't have a little bit like that, but if I had I would have removed it and put a link to that site instead. I've done almost no work on mapping or scripting or anything like that recently, I just haven't felt like it. Hopefully I'll get back into it soon and I can add some more content to this site. I'm going to bed now.
12/12/04 - A Forward -
Technically it's the 13th but that doesn't matter, I don't really have anything to write about so I'm going to give you this amusing forward. One thing I can say it that I had a good weekend and I have an interview tomorrow, all the students get one it's basically to check we (the students) didn't cheat on our problem sheets, although if you did crap you can actually gain marks.
*The inevitable message from the British Foreign Office* To the citizens of the United States of America, In the light of your failure to elect a suitable President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective today. Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchial duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories. Except Utah, which she does not fancy. Your new prime minister (The Right Honourable Tony Blair, MP for the 97.85% of you who have until now been unaware that there is a world outside your borders) will appoint a minister for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire will be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed. To aid in the transition to a British Crown Dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect: 1. You should look up "revocation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. Then look up "aluminium". Check the pronunciation guide. You will be amazed at just how wrongly you have been pronouncing it. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'favour' and 'neighbour', skipping the letter 'U' is nothing more than laziness on your part. Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters. You will end your love affair with the letter 'Z' (pronounced 'zed' not 'zee') and the suffix "ize" will be replaced by the suffix "ise." You will learn that the suffix 'burgh is pronounced 'burra' e.g. Edinburgh. You are welcome to respell Pittsburgh as 'Pittsberg' if you can't cope with correct pronunciation. Generally, you should raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. Look up "vocabulary." Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as "like" and "you know" is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. Look up "interspersed." There will be no more 'bleeps' in the Jerry Springer show. If you're not old enough to cope with bad language then you shouldn't have chat shows. When you learn to develop your vocabulary then you won't have to use bad language as often. 2. There is no such thing as "US English," We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take account of the reinstated letter 'u' and the elimination of "-ize." 3. You should learn to distinguish the English and Australian accents. It really isn't that hard. English accents are not limited to Cockney, upper-class twit or Mancunian (Daphne in Frasier). You will also have to learn how to understand regional accents - Scottish dramas such as "Monarch of the Glen" will no longer be broadcast with subtitles. While we're talking about regions, you must learn that there is no such place as Devonshire in England. The name of the county is "Devon". If you persist in calling it Devonshire, all American States will become "shires" e.g. Texasshire, Floridashire, Louisianashire. 4. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as the good guys. Hollywood will be required to cast English actors to play English characters. British sit-coms such as "Men Behaving Badly" or "Red Dwarf" will not be re-cast and watered down for a wishy-washy American audience who can't cope with the humour of occasional political incorrectness. 5. You should relearn your original national anthem, "God Save The Queen," but only after fully carrying out task 1. We would not want you to get confused and give up half way through. 6. You should stop playing American "football". There is only one kind of football. What you refer to as American "football" is not a very good game. The 2.15% of you who are aware that there is a world outside your borders may have noticed that no one else plays "American" football. You will no longer be allowed to play it, and should instead play proper football. Initially, it would be best if you played with the girls. It is a difficult game. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which is similar to American "football," but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like nancies). We are hoping to get together at least a US rugby sevens side by 2005. You should stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the 'World Series' for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.15% of you are aware that there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. Instead of baseball, you will be allowed to play a girls' game called "rounders" which is baseball without fancy team strip, oversized gloves, collector cards or hot-dogs. 7. You should declare war on Quebec and France, using nuclear weapons if they give you any merde. The 97.85% of you who were not aware that there is a world outside your borders should count yourselves lucky. The Russians have never been the bad guys. "Merde" is French for "Shit." You will no longer be allowed to own or carry guns. You will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous in public than a vegetable peeler. Because we don't believe you are sensible enough to handle potentially dangerous items, you will require a permit if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public. 8. July 4th is no longer a public holiday. November 2nd will be a new national holiday, but only in England. It will be called "Indecisive Day." 9. All American cars are hereby banned. They are crap and it is for your own good. When we show you German cars, you will understand what we mean. All road intersections will be replaced with roundabouts. You will start driving on the left with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour. 10. You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips. Fries aren't even French, they are Belgian though 97.85% of you (including the guy who discovered fries while in Europe) are not aware of a country called Belgium. Those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called "crisps". Real chips are thick cut and fried in animal fat. The traditional accompaniment to chips is beer which should be served warm and flat. Waitresses will be trained to be more aggressive with customers. 11. As a sign of penance 5 grams of sea salt per cup will be added to all tea made within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, this quantity to be doubled for tea made within the city of Boston itself. 12. The cold tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all, it is lager. From November 1st only proper British Bitter will be referred to as "beer", and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as "Lager". The substances formerly known as "American Beer" will henceforth be referred to as "Near-Frozen Knat's Urine", with the exception of the product of the American Budweiser company whose product will be referred to as "Weak Near-Frozen Knat's Urine". This will allow true Budweiser (as manufactured for the last 1000 years in Pilsen, Czech Republic) to be sold without risk of confusion. 13. From December 1st the UK will harmonise petrol (or "Gasoline" as you will be permitted to keep calling it until April 1st 2005) prices with the former USA. The UK will harmonise its prices to those of the former USA and the Former USA will, in return, adopt UK petrol prices (roughly $6/US gallon -- get used to it). 14. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not adult enough to be independent. Guns should only be handled by adults. If you're not adult enough to sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist then you're not grown up enough to handle a gun. 15. Please tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us crazy. Tax collectors from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all revenues due (backdated to 1776). Thank you for your cooperation.
11/12/2004 - Late Night - Early Morning -
The FFVII section for this site is underway, I'm currently collecting data myself from the game because the stuff on other guides on the net is just wrong in many cases. I was going to blog yesterday but I got carried away on FFVII leveling up, getting the triple growth weapon for cloud, getting a master magic materia from Cosmo Canyon, and getting W-Summon materia and Final Attack Materia. Needless to say I was up until early this morning. After I've finished doing research on the world as it is when you've done everything in the story except defeat sephiroth I'm gonna have to go back using old safe games and check out some stuff before. Btw if anyone know's where you find 'Counter' and 'Magic Counter' Materia could you e-mail me? I know one of them you find in the northen crater but I'm not sure which.
As always stuff that I'd like to get done, like creating de_dusk (a map layout I designed in a mechanics lecture) for counter-strike source, creating the Ely mIRC page and starting work on Ely Bot, as well as learning more php and MySQL is getting done in fits and bursts as I do what I feel like doing at the moment. If I remember I think I'm going to write a review of NSU2 and send it into the Student News Paper. On a different subject (but I'm not changing paragraph because the last one was huge and I want them to be 'balanced') I'm being picked up on the 18th to go home, which I'm looking forward to (but not because I don't like it here). It's just going to be great to be home for a couple of weeks, I wish it was longer though =(. Christmas is coming, yey!
Meh I've got a few things to do for the seminar presentation portfolio, so I'll do some that and then see what I feel like doing, at the moment I think I can say that that is probably going to be messing about on FFVII, and designing the new sub-section of the site. I'm meant to be going out for dinner later, but I'm not entirely sure I want go. Well we'll find out what happens I guess.
Update: Today's turned into more of a day off, lol, I'll do the work I need to tomorrow. I just completed Need for Speed Underground 2, so there's one less thing to distract me. Oh and I guess it wasn't clear before, I have both 'counter' and 'magic counter' materia already I just forgot where I got them from, and no it wasn't the Gold Saucer.
09/12/2004 - Insanity Becons -
Well I've managed to stop being totally lazy and just playing NSU2, I've managed to quite a bit of work done, and lots of other stuff done that needed doing. Still got quite a lot to do but I'm no longer 'scared' of it. I took a Personality Disorder Test earlier and got the following:
Disorder | Rating
Paranoid: Moderate
Schizoid: Low
Schizotypal: Moderate
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Low
Narcissistic: Moderate
Avoidant: Low
Dependent: Low
Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate
Take the test here :
http://www.4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv
More info on the disorders:

I would like to point out of a couple of very small things that could be improved with Need for Speed Underground 2, first I'll say it is an extremely good game and would recommend it to anyone, but the few things wrong with it are:
1\ The people's eyes don't move, this wouldn't normally wouldn't be a point but after playing HL2 where they do move it's a bit wierd, proof that HL2 really has 'raised the bar' for video games.
2\ There aren't enough music tracks and some of the tracks are annoying, far too much rock and not enough dance music in my opinion. It is all 'real' music as in made by known artists, but I prefered how MSR did things which was music composed to be like commerical music (but not) and several track of each style so you could choose a dance 'CD' or rock 'CD' or whatever to listen to.
3\ It's commerialised, the adverts in game, like burger king signs everywhere and similar doesn't bother me because it's in theme, but the balant advertising of the tracks is midly irratating, include a track list and if I think it's good I'll go buy it, don't spam it at me every time it comes on! I think as video games are becoming main stream they are unfortunately bringing bad main-stream too them too. Some things are just best when they are 'underground' :P.
4\ You can't customise your number plate =o.
On a new topic I think this is possibly the best idea ever, click here. This looks scarily good in a different way, click here. I hope you will notice that last one is being developed at my university! And finally today I wrote this in msn with my nose/face;
Harry says:
hi
Harry says:
i'm typing with my nose!
I'm extremely proud of getting that exclamation mark!
07/12/2004 - Lazy -
Hmmm, I haven't got much to write about because I've pretty much just been playing Need for Speed Underground 2 non-stop during my free time. I should really get more work done =/. I managed to drag myself away and copy up my mechanics lecture notes in the library but it's really hard to work for more an hour without a break and keep up your concentration, so I came back to my room, and did no more work.
My problem is I don't really feel any need to do any work except for keeping up with lectures, doing problem sheets now will reduce my work load over christmas, but I'm in an extremely lazy mood and just don't care at the moment. My uber-lazyness is stopping me doing any work on computery stuff too, I've been neglecting this site, and I have a map layout and textures ready for me to start mapping, but I haven't. Sigh, I'm gonna check how much money I have and plan what I'm going to save and what I'll treat myself with.
06/12/2004 - Zoom Zoom! -
My weekend with Rach was great, as it always is. This week is feeling pretty sucky now she's gone. When I'm with her everything else just seems to go away. This means I forgot all about the amount of work I have to do, and now I'm not too keen on doing any of it. My start to the this week is made worse by the fact I've broken my £40 headset, and it look like it's irrepairable, the headphones are fine, I just won't be using the microphone till I get a new one.
I picked up Need for Speed Underground 2, over the weekend when me and Rachel were out shopping, like it's not something I'm going crazy over, it is a lot of fun, and I can see myself playing quite a lot of it over the next few weeks and there's probably some fun to be had replaying once I complete it. I also picked up a guide to php & MySQL, which I think I was overcharged for, so I maybe including some php magic in my site once I've got the hang of it. Now that my CPU has cooled down some I think I'll go play NSU2 again (running it with the settings all maxed out, I love my x800 XT).
03/12/2004 - Mini-Lab -
First let me say; "Yey!" because I'm going to see Rachel in about 3 hours. This weekend should be rather ownage. Hmmm, I'd better go get some milk and wash up before I go collect Rach from the station, should probably tidy my room up a bit too. I just had mini-lab, in that lab is meant to last 3 hours but it only lasted about 30 minutes, because Peter (my lab partner) and I actually finished the experiment yesterday so didn't actually have anything to do.
In my maths classworks I decided to draw a layout for a Counter-Strike Source map, it'll be using the dust / dust 2 textures (from source of course) but there will be much more 'life' to the land, and a large mansion type building in the centre. I'll keep you updated on how that comes along. I'm trying to put together a gallery page, but I want just one php or html page with cycling images, which might take a little thought on my part. Probably won't update tomorrow as Rachel will be here and it would be rude to ignore her to write a blog.
02/12/2004 - Bouncy Bouncy -
I'm sorry I lied to you, I said I'd try to update this site yesterday, I didn't update it, in fact I didn't even try, sorry! I am however updating it now! Anyway... Weyhey! I've copied the assessed problem sheet answers into the answer book and I've finally finished copying up my mechanics notes, so I'm finally up to date with all of my lectures. This does leave the pile of problem sheets, classworks and lectures problems I've been neglecting, but shh we don't talk about those!
New content I'm planning to make soon(ish), Ely mIRC page with the current version and plans for improvement, a few pictures of me in the about me section, a fun stuff page in 'misc'. I'm going to try and get round to writing up the FF7 guide I've got / made by playing through again. I'm also planning on changing the 404 and error pages, because at the moment they are like all the other pages on this site but with an error message instead of content, but I have to keep updating the menus with the rest of the site and I can't be bothered so they are going to change.
I can't wait for this weekend, Rachel is coming down, and we're going on a double date with Rob & Emma on friday evening, then probably goin shopping on saturday and other stuff, generally I'm just stupidly excited about see her, I'm quite bouncy at the moment! Makes me wish I had those things woz puts in his blog that say "mood : current mood" just so I could put bouncy.
In other news, I've been put in charge of CS tournaments at IC portal, which is a new imperial college related thing, they are hoping to become an official union club soon. I think they are planning to all sorts, but one of the thing'll be various video game tournaments. Meh I think should start 'the geek club' (geeky computing wise ofc) for Imperial College, I'm sure there should be plently of prosective members!
