20:10 - 28/02/05 - Computer Problems -
My hard drive seems wounded, I'm trying to back up my files but it keeps crashing before I have a chance to complete burns. I'm now attempting to just zip up the most important files and then file transfer over the super quick network connection to teh Emma. Then I'm going to format and reinstall windows, hopefully that'll fix the problem, if not I'll be needing a new hard drive. I just hope I can fix it before this weekend when I'm meant to be going to the KB LAN, if I don't have a working computer it's obviously pointless going!
12:24 - 21/02/2005 - Mmmm Bacon! -
First I'd like express happiness at the fact that today marks me and Rachel being together for 21 months! We've both been down quite a bit lately but we're still together and thanks to Rachel for bring me out of some of those moods, I hope I've been able to do the same. Looking forward to going home for this weekend and seeing her.
Unrelatedly World of Warcraft has fucked up my internal clock, it really has. Going to sleep before 1 am is really quite difficult and getting up in time to go to 9 o'clock lectures is impossible. While this actually doesn't bother me a whole lot, I feel that it should so I'm going try and get to sleep before midnight. I'm also going to try and not play any World of Warcraft during the day and actually start working, because I really haven't done any work at all this term. Considering I have six exams after I get back next term I really should start reviewing my notes at the very least.
I managed to get my ass down to the gym on wednesday of last week, but I only managed 30 minutes before having to stop. Which is pretty crap but as I haven't done any proper excersise for around 4 months it's not quite so bad. My legs, lungs and heart coped fine but my upper body didn't haha, I was still aching until Saturday so I didn't go to the gym on Friday but I will go this afternoon instead. This is all towards two things, to make me feel better about myself, and to 're-earn' my black belt, I just have to make sure I keep my fexability up too, no good being strong if you can't kick any higher than the stomach!
That about completes what I'd like to say, I'll just tell you that I'm about to tidy up my room somewhat and pick up my notes that are all over the floor from me i) using them to do my assessed problem sheet last week ii) just dumping them there when I get back from lectures. Also going to do a little washing up and possibly make myself a bacon sandwich, mmmm bacon!
17:46 - 17/02/2005 - Pizza is good for you -
I just slept through the first two thirds of a maths lecture then woke up and still managed to understand everything that was being talked about. Either I should be proud of myself or it was just an easy subject, more likely the latter. Anyway, you may have noticed I haven't updated this web log in quite while, this is due to World of Warcraft, I got it at 10am on the day it was released then played for 17 hours straight. Although I haven't been quite that bad since, I was however up until 4am playing last night. This probably being why I fell alseep in lectures. It also meant I could get much of the assessed problem sheet, which is in tomorrow, done this morning. This bad because the electronics section is evil, I'm going to have to neglet my characters development tonight to get this problem sheet done. So I still have a little perspective on the world it would seem.
I think World of Warcraft is partly what's keeping me happy at the moment, sad as that may be. I say this because my course sucks, with the except of a few small parts like complex electronics, most of it is extremely boring & easy. Well complex electronics isn't interesting but it is difficult. The problem is trying to stop myself from playing loads purely to keep up with the crazy power levelers, though I'm quite happy being only 1 level behind the people who are on holiday at the moment and are playing all day. Another reason I could be unhappy, is the food served in halls is horrible and especially so this week. I may go get a pizza instead of eating hall tonight, if Emma will come with me, omg 3 mentions in 3 blogs, I don't stalk you emma honest!
12:40 - 10/02/2005 - Siren Song -
I remembered what it was that I didn't include in Sunday's post just after made the post, sod's law eh? Emma (your second mention in two days em, you must be proud =P) said that I should leave it till today because then I'd have something to blog about, I hope she wasn't slurring my creative ability! It feels bad enough about itself without you picking on it. Well anyway, what I forgot to mention about my weekend, was I flooded our landing's kitchen, oops. I blame magical trevor tbh. I found some help in the form of Faz who lives two floors down on my starcase who pointed me to the cleaning cupboard on his floor which is never locked, allowing me to get my hands on a bucket and mop handle, but no mop head. We spent quite a while looking for mop heads but failed miserably. I did manage to find several absorbant cloths on the cleaning cupboard on the sixth floor, and used them to clean up our kitchen floor. Unfortunately it spread out into the carpetted halls too, not very much on our side, but on the opposite side the majority of the hallway was rather damp (and still is and it's thursday), so me and faz used a big toilet paper roll to soak up some of the water, plonked a "Caution Wet Floor" Cone there and then ran away.
I do have something other than excessive water stories to talk about though, it's about sony's siren song. I have a horrible desire to buy a PSP, mainly to play wipeout : pure. I had a small obsession with these games when the first wipeout was released on the Sega Saturn, but then Sony bought the rights and as I was a bit of sega fan boy at the time, I refused to buy a PS and then PS2, but I miss the stupidly high speeds and shooting of wipeout, although I prefer the racing (which is good because that's what they've concentrated on in wipeout: pure!). Now the PS3 & X-box2 are looking to be released next year and I think am going to have to buy another console, it's been too long! Now X-box had a far better range of games that I would have wanted to play than the PS2, and I'm not particulary keen on most of the library of games for the PS1 and PS2. So this would suggest that I'd want to get the X-Box2 aka Xenon, there is problem though, it looks like sony is going to be sticking a shit-load of tech into it's new console, I mean look at the processor. Well there's not much certain information out yet, so I think I'll just wait and see and make a more informed decision later. I might just have to buy a PSP in the meantime.
15:30 - 09/02/2005 - Skimpy Outfits -
First let me say "ooo meme's!" Having said that let me say "What the Fuck is a meme, I mean why is it called 'meme', wtf is that??". Right well, all my online stalkers are in need of an update as to my life atm, so I'll start by telling you breifly what I did over the weekend. I picked up Rachel from the station on friday evening and then I cooked pasta, with pasta sauce, and we ate it. On saturday we went shopping on high street kensington and I bought quite a lot of stuff, which I'll come to in a moment, then we watched the martix on DVD and then Shallow Hal on Channel 4 and ate pizza. When I say we watched, I mean I watched the martix and Rachel slept, and Rachel watched Shallow Hal and I messed about on the computer =/. On Sunday we didn't do much but we did go for a nice walk around Hyde Park, and then had KFC for lunch! Then Rachel went home =(. Oh my head started hurting on Sunday, I'll say more about that in a second too!
Now what I bought! I spent £129.99 in total, this involved Rachel paying for somethings and me giving her the closest denomination note to what I owed her and vice versa. Anyway, I got all three martix movies on DVD for £20 from Virgin, as well as the stargate movie for £4. I got The Da Vinci Code in a 3 for 2 offer with Rachel for about £5. I got trousers for going to the gym in for £25, cause they are nike you see. And for £80 I got a remote for my mp3 player, this is quite a lot, 32% of the price of the player in fact, but it is very sexy looking and you can do pretty much everything you can on the player using the remote. It has it's own screen with a backlight and everything. Possibly a complete waste of cash, but I felt like treating myself, this does mean I probably shouldn't buy myself a laptop =p (*conceeds to Emma and Rob*).
Now I'm going moan a bit, I had my MMR jab nine days ago now, and I was told of the many evil side effects it can have because it is a live vaccine. It would seem I've picked up some of these side effects, mainly a huge headache that I've had since sunday and is only just starting to stopping physically hurting and just a bit annoying, but also a fever which I only really had on tuesday but it wasn't very nice and my nose has been running like a tap, except my nose is bleeding inside as well (although not like a gushing nose bleed you see people having sometimes), so the result isn't very pretty. I know I'm not very pretty normally but you know what I mean. As I'm not feeling very well still, I have put off starting to go to the gym by 2 days (also because I'm lazy but mainly the impracticality of going to the gym with pockets stuffed full of tissues for my nose), and I'm instead tidying my room up a bit. This mainly consists of putting my washing and other clean clothes away, putting my dirty washing in the basket and the basket in the cupboard, and putting my physics notes that are all over the floor into the big folder. Oh and I need to do some washing up and dusting too.
Hmmm, I'm sure I had something else to talk about too, well I've forgotten it now, if I remember I'll make another post. This was mean to be a little break from tidying my room but I've actually being sitting here for at least an hour now, and I really need to eat something before I pass out or similar. Oh I pre-ordered World of Warcraft so I might have even less of a life than usual soon, I think if I chose to make a female character to roleplay I might be accused of being a bit 'wrong' in the head even though I'd like to, so I won't, though in my defence I normally choose female video game character when they are available because they are quicker and more agile, yeah that's it.... mmm skimpy outfits, What!? I said nothing.
20:49 - 03/02/2005 - Morrowind!!!!!1111oneoneeleven -
After reading so much 8-bit theater a had an extreme disire to do some role playing, unfortunatly I don't have any MMORPGs, I expressed this to Emma and I suggested we make one, she on the hand suggested I go play morrowind. I took her suggestion, then didn't stop for about 6 hours and it was 10:30 to start with, and played for another 6 hours today. Horrible addictive games, I started a new character and although I've done far less side quests I'm almost up the same point in the main plot, the difference can be seen by the fact that my last character was level 35 and this one is level 6, I'm just actually using potions and stuff rather than just relying on the fact I hit them lots. Yeah well anyway, I think I might buy World of Warcraft when it comes out next friday. New addiction alert!
Oh and if you didn't notice I've moved february to it's own febuary page (on my main site, if you're reading this on live journal this obviously doesn't apply!) rather than having it on the January page, sorry about that. My rearrangement of file names last month made the changing of the menus a little less troublesome but I think I'm gonna impliment a different system if/when I do a site re-design. Everybody loves magical trevor! (I've had that on loop for the last 20 minutes, proof I really am quite insane, least I am now if I wasn't before).
20:53 - 02/02/2005 - Web Comic Overload -
Erm, since my last post I've been in a very good mood, and then a very bad mood, and then a good mood again. Today I joined the gym, so yey that's a new years resolution on the why to completion. I also made a new resolution not to use the computer in the morning or afternoon, because I invariably do absolutly nothing useful. So this afternoon I went to the library instead, but I ended up reading the whole archive of VGcats online, oops! I'm now reading through the 8-bit Theater, I'm on number 171 of 510. Since I can't be bothered to come up with any more to entertain you I'm going to leave you this link (Alien Wing Wong, rofl) and the question, Is it wrong to want 8-bit characters to have sex? ... I think I'm going insane.
