09:05 - 28/04/2005 - Exam Time! -

Well I'm going to be leaving my room in 25 minutes for my next exam, Maths! Mechanics and Relativity was okay, alittle easier than I was expecting, I hope the Maths is the same or I'm not going to do very well! Anyway I had a little time spare, so I'd just thought I'd bang out a bit of bloggage. Being back in London is strange as always, especially after having seen Rachel almost every day in the holidays and now not at all =(. I had a go on World of Warcraft again the other day and unfortunately it seems to have got me hooked again, well at least I'm paying for something I use now. I've also started a Counter-Strike Source map as yet another way of avoiding revision, not sure how it will progress if I'm playing World of Warcraft but I'm trying to a really playable map, so I'm messing about with the layout for quite a while before I start making it pretty. Well, wish me luck, I'm off to attempt some maths!

08:54 - 20/04/2005 - Power to the TFT -

Yes I have a flatscreen monitor! It is 17 inches of 8ms response loveliness, when running it side by side with CRT there is a difference in quality but when it's running on it's own you can hardly tell, and it's perfectly decent for gaming. The only small complaint I have is that I've got -£150 now, oops! I bought it because now when I go back to uni I should be able to have only half of the desk taken up by my PC so I can get some work done. In preparation for going back I'm using just my TFT monitor, I think if I keep using two monitors until I go back I'm going to miss them too much! Although to be fair all I was really using the second monitor for was msn and winamp.

I'm into 'revision mode' except I didn't manage to do the final hour I'd planned yesterday and the hour before wasn't really working. Also I'm going out with Rachel for lunch and then to help her buy cushions, so my revision today is going to cut short too. This really isn't a good idea, because I've got to that point where I look at everything on the course and think I have to know it back to front. So far every time I've been disproved and the exam has been far less memory reliant that I was expecting, I just hope that's the case again or the results of my Mechanics exam and my Mathematics exam aren't going to be pleasant.

Whilst not breaking any laws, unlike some people, I've become slightly less of a 'legit boy' and I've borrowed CDs from my sister and from Rachel and made mp3s on my machine to expand my music collection. Knowing me though I'll probably buy the albums I really like. Talking of buying albums I really fancy the Basement Jaxx Singles Album, think I'll wait till my loan comes through though! Oo I also want to buy my favourite Tidy songs from Tidy Digital now that I think about it, but I should really stop spending for a while, soon enough I'm going to need to put a deposit down on a house, should save some for that!

12:51 - 16/04/2005 - Trouble Emoting :o -

Currently I seem incapable of emoting with anything, I feel disconnected from the rest of the world. I have an idea why that might be but I'll come to it after I've told you about the last few days. Me and Rachel went down to London together on Monday evening, we went shopping for our few days down in the big sainsburys and as it turns out estimated what we needed pretty well. I cooked chicken in a pasta sauce and then put it on pasta, yummie, for our meal that night. Then Tuesday we went round the V&A, where I had to endure being dragged around the fashion section for what was probably close to an hour or more, it felt like more. Rachel then had to endure being dragged round the Dinosaur exhibition in the Natural History Museum, mainly to see the new sensing/moving T-Rex :D. We went shopping in High Street Kensington where I bought 5 DVDs and we watched Road Trip and then American Beauty that evening. Rachel cooked dinner, some spicy mexican wraps, which were nice, except we used the spice for 8 on 6 wraps, so they were very spicy, but still quite enjoyable. Then on Wednesday we went to the British Museum in the morning and spent almost all our time in the Eygpt Section (Rachel's preferance although I have no objection), then in the afternoon we went to the National Gallery which was surprisingly enjoyable (I always used to hate going around art galleries when I was little) I'm scared I'm turning into an adult! Yeah right... Anyway we had a look around Covent Garden (I bought Aliens SE DVD with the £10 HMV Voucher I still had since Christmas)and then went to TGI Fridays, where I had a Sandwich, and not a Steak! Thursday was a little more relaxed we had a look around Westminster in the rain, and then went on the Eye, which still offer some amazing views even in the light rain and we hardly had to queue at all! Then it was back on the train and home, it was nice not to be separated from Rachel at the end of a time together in london, if a little odd.

Hmm, I appear to have cheered up some since about writing about our weekend, and boy that was a long paragraph, sorry. Anyway, the reason I was feeling totally disconnected earlier and a still a little now is watching the other 4 DVDs that I bought in London one after another once I was back. For your information the DVDs I bought, in alphabetical order, were:

In other news, I've stolen links from tidy digital for samples of every track in my vinyl collection :D. I'm very tempted to buy them all as mp3s and a few more I don't currently own, because lets face it, music collections are going to completely digital soon enough, and I'm not going to use any shitty format forced on me by some company so that I have to use their devices to listen to them. Go tidy! Sell those mp3s! :D. I think I might buy some just to show my support :P. Well as you can probably guess from the emoicons every where I'm not have trouble emoting anymore :). I think the rather loud music is helping too.

12:00 - 03/04/2005 - Stopping Distances -

I've just done quite a few updates, I've had to remove the sound bytes from my Vinyl Collection because tidy has redone its site and all the links have changed, and now you can leech off them, least not as easily. I've also updated the mapping resources page, although not entirely as I couldn't find the latest version of ZHLT, I'll have another look later. Oh and you may have guess my last entry was actually on the 1st of April at about 1 am but I decided to change the time so I didn't have to create an April page. I could just have one long blog page as index and then I wouldn't have to deal with this.... hmmm, I'll save that for when I redesign the site.

I was thinking, while dropping Clare home this morning, that you're meant to drive at such a speed as to be able to stop in the distance you can see on small winding lanes (like the one Clare lives down). Now surely this means that if you meet a car coming the other way, as soon as you see them they will already be at the point where you will stop, and as they are traveling towards you there is going to be an accident... unless the road is wide enough to let two cars pass but I wouldn't be talking about this is it were. So this whole driving at a speed so you can stop in the distance you can see is rather stupid, you should be have to stop in less than half the distance you can see, because I personally wouldn't like to drive into another car with a speed differential of about 20 mph, I mean would you drive into a parked car at 20 mph? I didn't think so.

Oh I'd just like to say Happy Birthday to Rachel, who was 19 on the 30th, because I haven't done that here yet. We went shopping in Shrewsbury on the day, and then out for a pub style lunch with her family (and her Grandma who's birthday it also is, so happy birthday to Mrs. V Downes too!). Last night we had drinks at hers with some of her friends and her brother and some of his friends then we went to Mainstreet. It's the fourth time I've been in there and it's just the same as ever :/, I was getting rather bored but I managed to make it through to closing time with the help of some Prodigy, some Insomnia [the song] and a girl chatting me up.
