I've managed not to play World of Warcraft for three days, the problem with the game, you see, is that you can play it and be obsessed, or you can not play it, there isn't anything else you can do. I dislike any games that pit you against many other people, so that the only thing that defines how well you do is amount of time played, it just leads to obsessive and anti-social behaviour. I think BF2 is guilty of this, in that stats from every single server are collected and you are given an overall ranking against everyone in the world, I think stats for a single server in CS or NS were bad as it makes you play more competitively, the ranked server system for BF2 is like that times a million. I haven't fallen for it though, mainly because with my wifi lag and my computer not being so well means it's not really playable for me. That coupled with the fact I don't really like games where your bullets don't actually go where you point them.
This is turning into the blog of a recluse it would seem. It seems whenever I'm going out with Rach (as I am at the moment), I lose my some of my drive to do things, well nothing like becoming single to give you a kick up the arse to get you started. I'll just have to try and make myself do stuff other than play video games, now while in theory I should leave my computer alone entirely I think I'll go halfway instead, do some stuff with mates when I can arrange it but take up a project on the computer to fill some of the rest of my time. Now I'm not sure weather to start work on de_dusk again, I've got an idea to make it so can let my imagination run a bit wilder with the architecture, or to try and work on some coding using my for dummies book (*hangs head in shame*) or as I've just got hold of a working version of fruity loops v5 to have a go at that. Unfortunately I get the feeling that fruity is a bit like Hammer, it's going to take months of crappiness before I even get the hang of the program and then maybe I'll be able to do something half decent. One pleasant surprise is that the new hammer editor works for HL1 as well as HL2, which seems obvious now I think about it, but it wasn't until I did think about it, if you get what I mean!
I've not been a total recluse of late, apart from seeing Rachel (which is pretty much a given) I've seen my mate Fozzy twice, he came over last night we had some junk food then upon discovery that he'd never seen fight club, we watched it. Quite a disturbing film in some ways and not particularly self-consistent but one of my favourites none the less. While I'm talking about movies, if you're looking for a twist you didn't see coming and is really good and the film is self-consistent as well, you can't beat 'the usual suspects', great film also one of my favourites. Other interesting things was talking to 'Leigh-Nova' and her mates whilst they were all very drunk. Oh and I just like to thank Matt-e-h. for being a great person to chat to, even at 4:30am in fact, especially at 4:30am and also that his tunes rock, I just wish he'd finish some!

It's very warm, that would be because it's summer and for once the sky is not full of clouds in shropshire. Yesterday I went for a nice walk around edgmond with Rachel, in which I was surprised at how far you can see! I'm used to having my view obsured by buildings. So far I've not really done much useful with my time, I'm currently watching the final feature length episode of Stargate Season 7, having already watched the previous 6 series. I've also got my main World of Warcraft character to level 60 and started collecting a nice item set for them. I'll probably put up a screenshot and a "yey!" (as demanded by Emma) once I've got the full set. So if you'll excuse me and I'm going to get on with collecting that set, although I might possibly play one of my 'alts'.
