Blog - August 2005
10:48 - 16/08/2005 - It's Been a While -
It's been rather a long time since I last blogged, sorry for anyone that checked my site or LJ to see what I'd been up to, only to find a blank page. Not many people though I'm guessing! I've been up to quite a lot, although not as much as I could have been in over 3 months of time off. The main reason I haven't updated this site is that anytime I get to spend on the computer I'm spending playing World of Warcraft again, oops. I think video games should be recognised as an addictive substance.
As to what I've been up to, I went to pizza hut on Sunday night for Bry's Birthday, which was quite fun, especially because it seemed to the be the group of girls from the high school that I had a few conversations with each, as opposed to the one's I've met several times but still can't remember their names :/. With it being a Sunday night and Pizza Hut being somewhat understaffed, we had one poor waitress looking after all 18 of us, and they were a little short on some things, me and Rachel ended up with something completely different from what we originally ordered, we did however get garlic bread with cheese with a (sweet chili) dip (which you don't normally get you know) to make up for it.
Working in reverse chronological order, I got my results when I got back from Wales with Rachel, I did pretty well, though clanger's results make mine look depressing. Without further ado my results were as follows:
Electricity & Magnetism 67
Mathematics 72
Matter, Vibs & Waves, Quantum Physics & Prof Skills 80
Mathematical Analysis 47
Mechanics & Relativity 81
Physics Laboratory 1 79
Aggregate mark 72.2
Now while I feel that I should be able to get the same mark in my exams as I get in my assessed problem sheets (around 95%), the fact that I didn't pretty much no work all year and far less revision that I really should have or could have, I don't think I can complain about an overall first. I would like to take the opportunity to laugh at Maths Analysis, my worst mark, but in case you haven't read my previous blogs, I did no problem sheets, no classworks and no revision for it, absolutely none, and I passed so muhahahahahahaha... Oh and if anyone looks at the average and thinks it looks a bit high given my mark in MA, it should be noted that not each exam is worth the same number of units.
Wales! Yes I went to Wales and it was great! Me and Rachel drove over to Aberdovey, after looking at the cebs (council estate by sea) that is Borth and deciding to go somewhere else. It was really nice and sunny for the whole time we were there, in fact by the third day I was hoping it'd cloud over a bit so my slight sunburn didn't get any worse. I am now lightly tanned so I don't look like a complete recluse! There were numerous enjoyable activities embarked upon in Wales, including walking up a huge hill, eating fish and chips overlooking the beach in the evening, disposable BBQ fun, digging a large hole in the beach while Rachel lay about as much out of the sun as she could manage, and several pub lunches. I think it's fair to say it was the best time I've had in Wales and I'd recommend Aberdovey as somewhere to visit if you decide to go to Wales of a Sunny weekend, just don't get a box of assorted fudge *shivers*.
