19:24 - 25/05/2009 - Busy Busy Busy

Wow, it's been a busy couple of weeks or so. I wasn't making much (read any) progress applying to companies directly so I decided it was time to start using recruitment agencies a bit more, contacted one directly and put my CV on monster.co.uk and oh my god... For the next 3 working days I was pretty much constantly on the phone, confirming sector interests, locational requirements and such like, so it works I'll tell you that much. In between these working days I went down to London (well Essex) for Fozzie's Birthday BBQ last weekend, was great to see him, and Alan for that point, again and meet all the random people from Foz's life.

I had interviews on Thursday and Friday in Hatfield and Central London respectively, I'm not going to go into too much depth until I've figured out what I'm doing but they both went really well. Have to give a big thanks to Zoe and Rich for putting me up for the night, I think I'd have died if I had to drive to and from London twice in two days. That said I did drive back to Shropshire Friday and back down to London on Saturday! This time it was to join the 102 crew for some bank holiday karting, great fun, even better on this my second time. I did however sit a little further forward this time in order to be more aggresive in the turns and so I got thrown about a little in the seat and am now bruised all over, not to mention having removed some skin from my thumb and getting a blister off the steering wheel!

So now I've just driven back to Shropshire (again!) after spending the first half of the bank holiday Monday in a tribute to the old times (second year uni mostly) by playing the original Halo at 102 Farm Lane (Me and Nik are still the team to beat on Blood Gulch it seems xD ). Now I'm trying to relax by blogging and listening to music, but it's made a bit harder by the knowledge I'm gonna need to do some prep work for the interviews I have tomorrow in Oxford (although one is a telephone interview, will have to find somewhere in Oxford to take it :S) before I go to sleep. Still, it may be tiring but it's all very exciting, hopefully I'll be starting in a job soon and will be back in or around London, yay!

Nothing like a hang over to remind you you're alive. I was bored of the CDs I've got in the car so driving back from London today I did something almost never do, I listened to Radio 1, crazy. It's sunday afternoon so it's the chart show and I'm enjoyed enough that I'm now listening to it through iplayer... thought I'd share.
