So yeah, this site isn't getting a lot of love lately. Jobs have a tendancy to eat free time... that and when you write websites for work doing it in your spare time seems a bit overkill. In fact if I'm honest even C++ coding seems a bit too much like work to get on with my game projects lately. Hoping that once Fyska gets internets and the possibility of a collaborative project is present I'll find the motivation.
Given this "It's a bit too much like work" effect on my website and my coding I'm considering trying something else I've always wanted to do but never got round to learning the tools and the theory. Music Production, specifically electronica (my favourite being euphoric / hard trance but I'd like to mess about in between genres too). Hoping that Fozzie might give me some pointers to get started, but I get the feeling it'll be much like when first starting mapping. You spend months just being able to use the tools and then once you've got those down, THEN you discover if you're any good at the creative side.
I've got my car and a few more of my things into my room since I first moved in, so I'm now typing this with laptop hooked up to my 22" widescreen and nice logitech sound system - the one I once used tricia helfer to describe - perhaps it says something about me as a person, but damn a good sound system and a big-ass screen make me happy. I'm currently listening to some of the tracks that come with FL studio to show you what can be done, some are really good, the kind of electronica people produce because they love the style not because they want to make "bangin' tunes". That said I am listening on headphones it's a bit late / early for a 20" sub doing those bass lines.
I should probably grab some sleep, didn't get a lot last night either ending up in Angel at god knows what time crashing at a work colleage's place. Got to chat to pretty swedish girls so I can't really complain though! For anyone that's reading and like their video games, check out www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/ there's been a lot of media releases recently, hopefully alpha and beta will be out soon, NS 1 was quite simply one of the best multiplayer games ever made and I'm quite looking forward to playing NS2... even if I won't have enough to lose myself in it like I used to be able to do at school / uni.
Oh and here's a pic of tricia helfer... it'd have been mean of me not to share when I google image searched just to check I spelt her name right.
