I'm just downloading neoaxis in the hope it might suit my needs as something to allow me to try out my game design concepts. I need reasonably low level control because I want to try novel things, such as a realistic movement system in a space shooter or locational magic game where the whole environment is your mana bar, which isn't something you can do with most easy to use game generators.
It's not like I can't build my own engine from guides even if it's not very good, but I forget how to use it after spending all day doing XML config / HTML and CSS which is a bit more direct to what you want to acheieve. Hopefully this'll be something I can use, if not I'll have to get back to building a slightly better one than my first attempt out of ORGE and other libraries. I was planning on calling it Gremlin, because of all the code gremlins that would be likely to inhabit it. I'm starting another project with a friend 'Audiora' which I've put a design doc together for and someone more talented than me is planning to go about actually building it. Hopefully I'll be able to post something about it here if and when it makes some more progress.
I'm feeling the need to improve this site, ideally this time I'd like to have something where I can post my blog entries online, it's about time I joined this decade before it's over. As tempting as it is just putting a link to tumblr on this site and starting up an account (or just putting it in an iframe), I should probably use my experience to build something myself. I least I've stopped putting inline styles in these entries.
